Covert Energy Facility
For this Combined Cycle Power Facility located in Covert, Michigan, Blaine Construction provided and installed the primary and secondary building frame, all cladding, the general mechanical and electrical system, the fire protection system, and the Plant Services Building architectural finishes for this design/build project.
The largest of the two buildings is the STG/CTG Turbine Building, which is 104,200 SF. The Turbine Building houses four gas turbines and two steam turbines along with two 80 ton overhead maintenance cranes. Along with the turbine building, Blaine supplied an Administration and Control building (14,263 SF) which houses the control center and personnel that run the facility as well as a warehouse/shop area that houses the on site maintenance staff, fabrication area, and spare parts.
