Institutional - UT Neyland Stadium

UT Neyland Stadium Phase IC Seq2 Improvements

This project included:

  • An 1,804-seat Terrace area – located below the West Club seating – that will include access to an indoor Terrace Club with enhanced concessions;

  • A new Gate 21 Plaza, including a massive, arched entrance structured, permanent bench seating, brick pavers and trees;

  • An amphitheater and “grand entrance” to The Hill (the amphitheater will play host to the game-day radio show, and be available for student lounging during the week), located at the corner of Middle Drive and Philip Fulmer Way;
  • A large display area for a twice-life size and perpetually lit statue of General Robert Neyland created by Blair Buswell, who has sculpted the Pro Football Hall of Fame busts since 1983.

  • Large murals of several former Tennessee Volunteer players including Reggie White, Peyton Manning and Al Wilson.
  • The brickwork at the top of the new Gate 21 entrance structure features a basket-weave pattern aimed at echoing the pattern on nearby Ayres Hall.

  • The project was honored as the recipient of a 2011 Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Award by Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation
